Nassau County Bar Association Releases Statement on Attacks Against Asian Americans
August 5, 2021:
The Nassau County Bar Association deplores the recent and increasing attacks on Asian Americans. The NCBA expresses its solidarity and support for our Asian American colleagues and the Asian American Community.
As Dr. King wrote from Birmingham jail, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
The freedom that we treasure depends on the protections afforded by the rule of law. Violence against anyone based upon their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, age, creed, national origin, or sexual orientation is unacceptable. The NCBA deplores such actions, and the perpetrators should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
