Lawyers experience substance abuse and mental health problems at significantly higher rates the general population and other professionals.
The Nassau County Bar Association Lawyer Assistance Program provides a range of services to Lawyers, Judges, Law Students and their immediate family members who are struggling with alcohol or drug abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, as well as other addictions and mental health issues*.
LAP services are free and strictly confidential via Section 499 of the Judiciary Law and the Rule of Professional Conduct. LAP is completely independent of the grievance committees of the Appellate Division and NCBA.
