Hurricane Sandy Recovery: Resources and Information for New Yorkers
New York Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), also referred to as Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance, provides individuals that live or work in one of the counties declared as a disaster and have become unemployed as a direct result of Hurricane Sandy to be eligible for DUA relief. You may qualify for DUA even though you would not normally be eligible for UI benefits.

If a customer's home is damaged or has created a financial hardship, customers should directly call the Disaster Assistance hotline at 888-818-9147 or 555-213-7700. (Monday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. CST; Friday 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. CST; Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. CST).
For customers with questions regarding their Home Equity loan, customers may call 1-866-249-5075 (Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST; Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST)
