The Committee was created as early as
1956. Its members include counselors, advocates and neutrals, representing
all perspectives of labor and employment law, including management, organized
labor, plaintiffs, the public and neutrals. The Committee meets monthly
to discuss labor and employment issues, including alternative dispute
resolution, employee benefits, private and public sector labor law, employment
law, employee rights and responsibilities, equal employment opportunity,
occupational safety and health law, collective bargaining, unemployment
insurance law, workers' compensation law, and union administration and
procedure. Membership is open to all attorney members and law student
members of the Nassau County Bar Association.
