LAWYER IN THE CLASSROOM

A Free Program for You & Your Students from the Nassau County Bar Association
In cooperation with the Law, Youth & Citizenship Program of the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Education Department.
IS THERE A LAWYER IN YOUR CLASSROOM?
There Should be, especially if you teach a social studies or law-related course. Lawyers are a valuable classroom resource for teachers of a variety of subjects. They can enhance your students' understanding of the impact of our legal system on their lives and of the society in which they live. The Nassau County Bar Association has a panel of lawyers who volunteer to visit classrooms as guest lectures/discussion leaders on legal issues relevant to your curriculum.
Submit requests at least 4 weeks in advance. Request only 1 topic for a month. Indicate month next to desired topic. Exact date arranged between teacher and lawyer. Evaluations MUST BE RETURNED following each presentation.
NOTE: During Mock Trial Tournament, it may not be possible to fill all Spring speaker requests, although we will make every effort to do so.
