Join our family ... become a member

The phone rings. The call is put through to me. The caller is interested in becoming a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, but needs to be convinced. Why join this Association? The answer is complicated and certainly not the same for everyone. I need to know a bit more about my caller. Are you a seasoned practitioner? If so, you may put networking and socializing first on the list. If you are new to the profession, discounted Nassau Academy of Law continuing legal education as well as complimentary committee membership providing opportunities for meeting others in your chosen practice area may be most important. For solo or small firm practitioners, the Lawyer Referral Panel could be the draw. I tell my caller that attorneys often get fee generating cases from these referrals.
For sure, I use Domus with its Great Hall and its elegant dining room to entice my caller. Our professional home offers a club-like facility which is a distinguishing feature of this Association and a major attraction for new and seasoned practitioners alike as well as members of the esteemed judiciary who regularly dine here.
The value of membership in this bar association is enhanced by vendors who provide discounted products and services available only to NCBA members (see complete member benefits on page 21) Several of the NCBA Corporate Partners provide discounted services and generous support of programs and events throughout the year. These discounted services lend a substantial financial added benefit to membership. Medical insurance coverage through North Park Consultants and professional liability coverage through CBS Coverage Group are two such Corporate Partners providing special NCBA programs. Two new Corporate Partners are the Intelligent Office and Capital Payments. The Intelligent Office is particularly enticing to newer attorneys who cannot afford to lease office space long term, but need to meet clients in an office or conference room setting. It may also be attractive to attorneys who are winding down their practice and have an occasional need for office space and resources. The Intelligent Office, a virtual office, conveniently located on Franklin Avenue, provides meeting space and other amenities, with special arrangements and pricing, specifically available to NCBA members. Capital Payments offers electronic payment solutions to provide convenient pay options for your clients. They have attorney escrow management, credit and debit card acceptance programs and so much more. Again, pricing and services are tailored to NCBA members. (call Dede Unger Ext. 226 for more information)
The list of benefits goes on and on, but I think the biggest selling point to my caller is an invitation I offer to become part of our family. Nassau County Bar Association members are part of a professional family that is caring and supportive and proud of its individual member’s accomplishments. Have I convinced you, my caller? Almost, but to seal the deal, I invite you to let me show you our home, introduce you to association leaders and staff... I invite you to come home to Domus. |
